Yes, it's a far cry from being 10 days early, but he still wasn't ever late - at least as far as I can recall.

It is easy to rip on SportsCenter nowadays, particularly for their style over substance M.O., but that segment was little more than a pair of yahoos who know nothing of what they speak fill air time.
If I'm Bob Ley, I would be embarassed to moderate such a round table as "Nu Skool-Old School"

He actually looked embarassed moderating it. When they got into the Freddie Mitchell comments (about not getting a lot of opportunities because T.O. was in the game) I threw up and turned it off.

Pedro showed up later than everyone else to either draw attention to himself as "special" or to show managers who has the real power. Some people hate when some of us call him a diva. But that's exactly what he is. New strategy to draw attention to yourself > show up early. What a diva. He was loved around here because he could always back it up. If he doesn't back it up in NYC, he'll be just another athlete who wishes that he never left Boston.

Please refer to Pedro as the Dominican Diva, or Diva from a dirt poor country, but never just "Diva".

John Clayton had a "What if" piece on what would have happened had Mo Lewis not knocked out Brady in '01. A few of Clayton's revisionist thoughts.
1. 2001 Super Bowl Champion Oakland Raiders due to no "Tuck Rule"
2. Weis and Crennel would be star coordinators in Dallas with Parcells
3. Brady would be in 2004 = to Tim Rattay or Chris Redman
4. Belichick may have been fired in 2001
5. Replaced by Spurrier, Bill Callahan, or Jon Gruden
6. Parcells would be challenging Philly for the NFC Champ.
7. Dillon would be in Oakland this year
8. Gruden, w/SB ring, wouldn't have left Oakland and Philly would have won NFC Championship in 2002.
9. Philly would have been the dynasty right now (2 or 3 SBs for McNabb) instead of New England.
 cubed
I love this stupidity. Oakland would have probably never beaten both Pittsburgh and the Rams the way the Patriots did. BB would never have been fired in 2001, considering he certainly didn't have to win the Super Bowl to "save" his job. All indications are that a healthy Drew would have been replaced anyway - and sooner rather than later.
An incredible half-joking list of assumptions in which each one only becomes possible if the previous one happens. Sort of resembling the list of assumptions that starts with "I can't see anything on the surface of Venus" and ends with "dinosaurs must live there".
While Clayton is way out on that limb, he should do us a favor and saw himself off.

I think that, in these slow weeks, a very worthy effort would be to compile a compresensive list of Felger's big misses and post on the front page in comparison to his ubiquitous media committments.

Interesting considering most of the club seat holders of Pats commited to purchasing the seats fro 10 years as well. It's not an issue now, but at some point in the future if , and this a big IF, the team is less than competitive this could be an issue.

It was something along the lines of "Buck and McCarver were 100% sure we threw at ARod and we were 100% sure we didnt."
Wow, we went from record posting to nothing for over an hour. Talk about the off season. :o

You gotta be kidding Steve. This isn't a real game and they don't play defense in this game. It's not as if some GM is going to fall in love with any player as the result of how they do in a freaking Pro Bowl.

Big F'n deal that he doesn't know the status of Chris Smith. What a crime against the geeks!!!! The rest of the article is fine. Oh yeah, another geek is upset because he wants BH Kim mentioned as a factor this year.
ND, how many freaking messageboards do you post on? Are you going for a record or do you just like pissing off Bills fans?

It's much more than Chris Smith, but it seems your issues are more about SoSH based on your comments. The rest of the article isn't "fine", and you're uninformed if you think that.
I've posted twice on TBD in a month.

TBD is a trainwreck but it was one of the first things I read when I came home from the Super Bowl party. I love the excuse making
Mazz is no Edes. Gordon would never wonder about Shoppach's future with the Red Sox or question why Bellhorn doesn't have any competition in Spring Training. As a matter of fact , I had a long conversation in Chicago with Edes at a Jimmy Fund fundraiser on Bellhorn and he was singing his praises.

Some of the guys at TBD know their stuff. Their board is better than any Patriots board out there (with the exception of Patriots talk here, of course ;) ).

The Bledsoe pick wound up being Ty Warren and not Wilfork. The Pats moved up one spot from the Buffalo pick in changing spots with the Bears. But THAT is lazy work by Burt (much more so than the Tony Maz stuff).
#225
Posted 13 February 2005 - 08:42 PM
The Pats probably don't get Wilfork without the 1st rounder for Bledsoe because they'd be trying to move up from 19 in 2003 instead of having the second pick to make a deal with and get the additional 1st rounder in 2004.
