This is the way to go senile

Quote

Hugh Hefner has been blessed with three new very gorgeous blonde beauties — two of which are twins. But despite his romantic relationship with 19-year-olds Karissa and Kristina Shannon, the men’s magazine mogul admitted at the recent Playmate of the Year party at The Palms in Sin City that he still can’t really tell them apart.

I think it is inevitable that by this time next week Bruce Allen Media will be completing its acquisition of the Globe.

Bruce has been sounding out key players in the future organization:

RR Safety - News
NASCL - Subscriptions and Bundling
Ironhead - Collections and animal rights stories
Nopointe - Commentary and Editorial Cartoons

Within the Sports Department, there will be co-editors:

Scott @PD will oversee Nick Cafardo and Mike Reiss while
Patrick Pass will be the general football editor
Lefty will oversee Kevin Paul Dupont while
Mr. Magoo will be the general Hockey editor
Suzy will oversee all things baseball, to include most writers and the sport in general
Larry Legend will oversee basketball and have Bob Ryan report directly to him
Fred West Lynn will have sole responsibility over Dan Shaughnessy
Arquimedez Pozo will resurrect the "sports media" column
and

SJH will provide hands-on direction to Amalie Benjamin.

Suzy will have the title of Editor-in-Chief. Nothing gets out without her giving it the once-over.

In addition to collections, Ironhead will also oversee labor relations with remaining Globe staff. Mark is also on this project.

PSF, LeBron and TommyFW are the IT department.

Gamere is in charge of temporary staffing. He's not allowed near the on-site daycare, however.

I dunno, getting financially bled to death by a sucession of whores while watching the empire you built slowly crumble sounds awful.

Working with Florio is far more offensive than getting replied to with a post involving Julie Kahn's junk.

I'd suggest that Florio dump the handwringing posts about Joe Buck's future and give that space to Tom for something that relates to football.

need a decent hotel recommendation very close to penn station.

Hotel Penn if you are into hookers and peep shows nearby. I always stay in midtown because the hotels down there are pretty staid. Look at the W Hotels (Boda approved too i think), the Soho/Tribeca grand are a quick cab/subway ride.

Can you imagine what sick @!&%s these twins have to be to be in a "romantic relationship" with Hugh @!&%ing Hefner? They sound like great gals, with characters to match their generic, waxy "good looks".

Why the @!&% is Bill Simmons so consumed about if Kobe has friends or not? Who cares?

Not just today's column but every friggin' podcast is breaking down the psyche of Kobe.

going to the open thursday, coming home via the acela that night, but I'm stuck as to what to do with bag/laptop/cellphone. was hoping for something decent nearby enough that I could just leave my bag at the hotel, but doesn't look like that'll work.

coming in to penn via LIRR, so don't want to stray too far to retrieve my stuff.

Rangers can't deal Blalock now.

Of course I I read the whole thing, Rangers offer me Blalock for Saito, I would have put Saito on the plane immediately. Think about the news in Mid-May. . . . .

What doesn't jive is the timing of this . .. . did it fail because the Sox sat on the offer, or did it too quickly coincide with Hamilton's injury. The timing comes into question based on what I recall so it seems to be more like the former than the latter.

In mid May there were many stories about the Sox looking at Blalock around here were and centered around the Rangers wanting Buchholz, or that type of pitcher. If all they wanted was Saito - who has value for sure, but a lot more replaceable that Clay or Bard for instance (Hell those guys would have replaced him), then why didn't Theo jump on it? Josh got a slight groin pull in late May, 19th or so. He even pinch-hit before the Rangers realized it was more serious. This went on for weeks, with him not getting better before the surgery became the necessary evil. Blalock came off of the DL in Mid-May and Marlon Byrd and others filled in pretty well at DH, they were winning, Hank was very tradeable then. If the Sox had a Saito/Blalock deal in place, in late May, they would have strengthened their offense when Papi looked like he was never going to come out of that slump. . . . that's my point.

I am convinced that those who enjoy Buck and Costas' "irreverant" take on sports are the same people that classify books by the Sedaris family as humor.

I'll get into that in my Big Book of Basketball. I'll rank the top five Alpha Dogs in league history as well as the top five players who had the most friends. All seventeen of Leon Smith's imaginary teammates count. Yup, these are my readers. It's a lot harder than you think.

You're assuming they would have sat Ortiz down for an extended period of time.

Tiki and charlie get Names & Faces, which would hopefully now feature a prominent daily position for King Larry.

Ozzy gets Starts & Stops.

When Tiki wakes up she's gonna be angry about this. She'll probably be happy to learn Boda only has 4 inches to give to her however.

This is pretty cool. A music playlist generator. Choose 'path' and enter 2 (or more) artists seperated by commas and it will give you a playlist that starts with the first and ends with the last. I did Britney Spears and Herbie Hancock and the transition was cool.

Good find. Only problem is that a couple of lists generated songs that were titled "unknown".

On the other hand, I didn't know the Feelies covered Neil Young's "Barstool Blues".

I think it's wild west music that just floating on on the tubes. I have seen a lot of remixes. It also seems to be artist and not track focused.

So are the barstool blues an additional set of blues to go with the blues you already have and are the reason you are sitting on the barstool in the first place?

30 days for Stallworth

Quote

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte' Stallworth was sentenced to serve 30 days in jail after pleading guilty in Florida to a DUI manslaughter charge.

The plea deal announced Tuesday calls for the 28-year-old Stallworth to also serve 10 years' probation and perform 1,000 community service hours for hitting and killing 59-year-old construction worker Mario Reyes with his car. Stallworth had faced up to 15 years in prison.

Stallworth also reached a confidential financial settlement with the Reyes' family. A person close to the negotiations told The Association Press about the agreement on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk about the deal.

The person said the agreement will avoid a potential wrongful death lawsuit from Reyes' family.

I may spend the rest of the day in idle fascination wondering how "retenue" is pronounced in Arabic.

It has to involve phlegm production of Belichickian proportions.

I had to laugh at this HuffPo headline about the fat comic and his bad manner affectation:

Joe's delicate sense of decorum hasn't been this upset since Randy Moss mimed pulling his pants down!
