At the end of the live taping in Manhattan, Buck thanked Lange for putting an end to his show after one episode. Fellow guest Michael Irvin grabbed the microphone and joked: "It's refreshing to see white-on white crime."
The show is sure to draw comparisons to author Buzz Bissinger's tirade against bloggers during a live episode of Costas Now last year.
Buck told USA TODAY he couldn't wait for the Lange segment to end. "I thought that spending time on a treadmill felt long. That was like 8 or 9 minutes that turned into an eternity. You know, it's cable, you can get away with it. It's not my style. But, you do one show and you learn and you move on."
Buck told reporters he thought Lange had an "agenda" when he came on stage to discuss the intersection of sports and celebrity. He was sorry Lange took time away from actors Paul Rudd and Jason Sudeikis of SNL. But Buck said there was little he could do to control the invited guest without "kicking him off the set" or hitting a "trap door."

Two reasons:
1) Persistent apathy toward kickball means no one has any idea, nor cares if they did
2) the 7-11 needs its clerk back for the overnight shift.

"My 2 1/2-year-old daughter pointed it out to me and said, 'Daddy, what are those boys doing,' " Bellanger said yesterday. "It really, really is upsetting."
The incident has brought attention to a problem humane society officials said they've been dealing with for some time.
Situated on County Farm Road just across from the jail, the animal shelter has long had problems with inmates getting the attention of people passing by their long, narrow windows, which are about 25 yards from the street.
"Our little neighbors have a tendency to do that once in a while," humane society Executive Director Martha Hewitt said of Sunday's incident. "I very rarely look over there because it's not worth it."
Hewitt said inmates have done many inappropriate things, including posting notes in the window asking humane society visitors to adopt them and mooning passers-by. She said she has complained to the jail on numerous occasions, to no avail.

Looks like the Andelman Brothers ran the Safari on the cheap....Shocker!

So I get there at like 2 because I got lost on the way there. Parking was free, Awesome. We pay our 15 bucks, and we're all starving! We spend about 10 min looking for the friggin' food and kicking small children out of the way. We finally find it, eat 3 hot dogs (Kelley's was the best) then sit in a 5 hour ice cream line (okay 15min at the most) then go back to wash down the ice cream with more hot dogs, but they were all gone!!! Def didn't get our 15 buck worth of food.
Not that I didn't think 3 hot dogs and a bowl of ice cream wasn't enough, but I had mentally prepared myself to feel so stuffed with hot dogs that I had indigestion for a week.
LAME.

One memory that stands out is standing by the track and watching a horse break his leg while I was shoving hot dogs in my face. The ambulance came and took the horse quickly to get examined and the jockey was ignored, lying on the track about 20 feet away. Maybe it was the fact that I smoked immediately before entering Suffolk Downs, or the fact that I was doublefisting beers, but it all seemed to be really fitting.
Most of the people that go to this look like they have been permanently stuck in 1985. It is like the social event of the season if you live in Revere.
The chicken pot pie stand is clearly the best

I dressed practically and accordingly - khaki cargo shorts, drab olive vest, pith helmet. The Lady Friend chose a thoroughly impractical outfit of all white (it being after Memorial Day) and a big floppy Derby hat. We were both wrong. The proper attire for the Hot Dog Safari would be something billowy, with an elastic wasteband, and the darkest color ratty T-shirt one owns.

June 15, 2009 at 10:16 pmNot surprised that McAdam won by a wide margine. The fact that Miss Benjamin finished second tells you how bad the media covering the Red Sox has slipped in recent years. As an organization, the Red Sox have done a good job in controlling the media, which has become extremely soft (except for the veteran writers like Shaughnessy and Cafardo). Francona is a good guy and very good manager, and Theo has done a great job. So it’s tough to question or second-guess their moves on or off the field.

I just watched the original for the first time on Sunday night. Since there was no Sox game last night, I went and caught the late movie of the new one last night. It had potential, and it had some bright spots...but overall, MEH.

It is very funny. Just a step down from Old School, IMO. Zack Galifinakis (spelling?) is hilarious. Heather Graham, while still a dreadful actress, is holding it together nicely.
Had a ticket for tonight's game drop in my lap last night. Sweet.

Wonder if you'll be sitting next to JBug or the unibrowed mongoloid who made all those horror movies.
Noooooo. No holy cross intramural smackdown winners in my crew. Just the guy who introduced me to my wife. He scored the seats from a partner at the law firm he works at. I think it's Section 16.

No comment on the Perk to Memphis for the #2 pick? Your silence is deafening on the matter... :D

I have been out of town, so I missed this. What a horrible idea. Take a proven young guy who you know can defend 90% of the big men you play on any given day and is under your control for a reasonable salary for 3 more years for @!&%ing Ricky Rubio? Did that heart attack cut off Danny's Oxygen supply?

What I said last night is that the only reason they do this is if the PHX rumor came to pass which means a nearly wholesale change in the lineup save KG and Pierce. Bruce commented that he though that was extremely unlikely and I have to agree, but still...
Stoudemire
KG
Pierce
Tyreke Evans or James Harden
Barbosa
or
Stoudemire
KG
Pierce
Barbosa
Rubio
those would be pretty good lineups... if Stoudemire learned to defend. Would he have a choice with KG in his ear?

Can Rubio defend worth a ****? Because what he faced, even in the Olympics, is a much slower offensive set than he will face night in and out. I remain skeptical about Stoudemire, especially on defense. I dunno, these seem like much larger moves than the Celtics actually need.
