That was a deserved unsportsmanlike penalty. Someone on the Vikes should take a swipe at Assante.

I think the Eagles are pretty happy they paid him.

Bill Richardson withdrew from the Commerce position in Obama's cabinet. I'm sure some newspaper will be dropping some bad news about him in the next day or two.

Buried at the end of the boston.com story was a reference to federal investigation of some financial dealings with a company in NM

Awful playcalling by Childress. If the Eagles score here, its all on him.

McNabb has some Bledsoe in him. Touch on the shorties, decision-making (bomb on 3rd and 2) and lack of growth through the years.

Guessing that seeing Indy pull that play off yesterday is the rationale behind it. Might have worked had all 11 defenders been confused.

Ummm, BC is beating #1 UNC at the half by 6 in Chapel Hill. :o

They will lose but played a hell of a half. They got a pretty good team this year.

Yeah UNC clearly came out in the second half saying we're gonna run these guys off the court. BC made it to the first TV timeout without losing any ground on the lead, but I don't know how long they can hold up. UNC is awesome on the break.

They're at the second TV timeout still up 5. :o

The hype has UNC as the greatest college hoop team of all-time. Supposedly they're gonna go undefeated and beat everyone by 20.

Edit: Holy crap, BC up 14 with 9 minutes left! I am stunned. UNC was favored by 23. Am I the only one who cares about this?

That is awesome. I hope they hold on because Skinner is a hell of a coach, and Carolina isn't as good as everyone thinks (at least in comparison to others in the top 10 or so). Of course I am biased on the matter, so consider the source.

Why? That's dumb. It's a one score game if you go for 2 and miss it. Do you really think Tavaris Jackson can lead them to 2 scores in 7 minutes?

Westbrook is Kevin Faulk with a rocket pack attached to his back.

Titans/Ravens
Steelers/Chargers
Panthers/Cardinals
Giants/Eagles

I hope NYG - Philly is the Saturday night game. I forget if the AFC or NFC gets it this year.

Nice run by Westbrook. Win it for Herman Edwards!

As an aside, IMO there isn't anyone in the national media less likable than Chris Myers. Am I alone on this? I'm guessing yes, but he gives me the creeps.

Cardinals/Panthers on Saturday night? That's arguably the least appealing matchup of the 4 games.

Oddly - that's the early Saturday game with Zona/Carolina the late Saturday game. Didn't want Philly on 6 days' rest?

Probably.

In that case I'd guess

Chargers - Steelers, Saturday @ 4:30ish
Cardinals - Panthers Saturday @ 8:130ish

Eagles - Giants, Sunday at 1:00ish
Ravens - Titans, Sunday @ 4:30ish

If you mean just sports media, I would nominate this guy:

the protection needed. thank god. the difference between what I lost last night vs what I won today was made up by the three young ladies I was with, who, seeing my despondence over Sproles' td, wouldn't let me pay for any drinks the rest of the night ;)

NESN gets one of the greatest college hoop upsets in years and they lose their signal with 3 minutes to go in a 4 point game. Unreal. A TBS level @!&% up.

They finally came back with .04 seconds left. BC held on and won by 7!

I don't know what BC's final record will be, but that win will get them in the tourney if they're anywhere near the bubble.

It's all the same feed, it's an ACC contract/production. NESN must have lost their satellite link or something.

They also had a couple other decent wins already, beating Iowa and St. Johns (who beat #7 Notre Dame yesterday).

 A bit of an overstatement. Carolina is pretty good but they really haven't beat anyone yet. Notre Dame sucks and State is middle of the road. Damn good win for BC but it's hardly one of the greatest college hoop upsets in years.

Quote

NESN drops ball in BC coverage
NESN dropped the ball in its coverage of tonight’s Boston College basketball team’s monumental upset over No. 1 ranked North Carolina.
With one minute left, and BC holding onto a slim 5 point lead, NESN’s feed disappeared and went to a string of commercials, leaving Eagles fans across the region wondering if their team was going to hang on.
The game finally came back on with seconds left - and BC won.
It must have been agonizing for fans to endure medical device, horror movie and Bruins commercials during such a pivotal moment.
I know my household wasn’t too happy.
