The Chargers are the Colts' Kryptonite. If the Chargers didn't beat them, the Colts probably plow through everybody else. That's what would have sucked - the Colts winning it all against another weak field. The Manning/Dungy/Polian love fest would have been more than I could take.

And a Chargers' win is more palatable when LT's role is negligible and Merriman's role is non-existent.

I do think the Chargers are a player the rest of the way, though. There's a lot of talent on that team. Stupid decision-making will be their downfall.

I ended up rooting for the Colts despite the specter of a Manning/Manning Super Bowl. My loathing of LaDanian Tomlinson and Philip Rivers outweighed my low grade dislike of Bill Polian and Tony Dungy. I decided to go with the team whose player I liked the most - Jeff Saturday plays for Indy, so I ended up rooting for the Colts. God I feel dirty rooting for the Jets and Indy back to back weeks.

I guess I'm with Ozzy on this years playoffs. I really don't give a crap who wins, although I always enjoy Peytons Pout. I'm just not into it this year. I'm going to spend today watching my new six cd set on world war ii. Please, no spoilers. I want to see who wins this war on my own.

I am now firmly in the camp of no Indy, Pitt or NYG. I want the Pats to be the only multiple SB winners of the decade.

I was thinking about the Braves comparison last night. The Colts defenders keep writing 10 straight years in the playoffs yet they've been perennial disappointments save for one year where they finally put it all together. Otherwise the usually lose games in which they are favored.

I love how Kravitz b*tches about "the officiating in New England, and the weather in New England." Call the Waaaahmbulance.

I didn't read it as him bitching about it- I read it as him saying this is what others (the team? the fans?) are saying, and it's bs.

That's the worst part about being up here. You get the top flight talent for TV anchors and reporters with nary a link or pic in sight.

Maine's only claim to fame in this regard is that Jane Skinner, of Fox News Channel and bride to Sheriff Goodell, was up here for a few years before making the big time.

You might want to add the Ravens to that list. ;)

I'd be more eager to watch Baltimore/Miami if I didn't remember this abortion from a few years ago. This might have been the worst game I've seen in my life.

Agreed. Kravitz' role seems to be Shanking the hometown fans. I mean, you gotta love this turn of phrase:

One and done.

Or, should we say, one and Dungy.

I think that's Courtney Friel. I can't see Roger going for a woman with a belly piercing. I think that's worth a fine in Goddell's world.

Here's Jane:

Wait......is Arquimedez the Dale hater a woman

Or is this some Boggs-ian third party reference to Pozo himself?

Frankly, I am hoping it's the former, since the location listed as "Johansen's cleavage" just gained the potential to be a LOT more interesting......

I think that's what I'm going with but I don't have a strong feeling either way on either game. I can't see the Ravens being pushed around by the Phins...which means they probably win by 10. <_< I hit the Chargers pretty good last night so this isn't make or break for the weekend.

I'm rooting for the winner of this game to win the Super Bowl. I know Philly's not a board favorite but they've always been my favorite NFC team, and the Vikings are a close second. I'd be ok with the Panthers winning it as well. If the Giants hadn't won last year I'd be rooting for the NFC rep to beat the AFC champion.

Childress makes weak decisions at critical moments of the game in the interest of not losing instead of winning. That usually costs teams wins in the playoffs. I can't see Philly getting there because of McNabb. At some point he'll do something so horrendous that the entire audience will be stunned and the Eagles will crash and burn. He's the ultimate tease.

For the most part he's a pretty good referee, even if he issues his calls like he thinks he's a justice of the Supreme Court. That call against the Chargers was the only serious mistake that I've ever seen him make in the last few years. I like to think that he made that call because he secretly hates the Chargers as much as we do. :D

Hoculi's in charge of interpreting rules for the rest of the officials and from what I understand the explanations are built like Supreme Court briefs.

I don't think that's a catch
