from this AM - Baseball Pospectus playoff odds:
Quote
The scenario that hit with the White Sox and Indians earlier this week strikes
again. The Yankees have clinched a tie for the AL East which, because of the
way the permutations of the wild card work, is being called a division title
by Major League Baseball and their "tiebreakers". Ugh. The post-season odds
report that scenario as a 50% title for each and a 50% wild card for each. The
odds of making the playoffs, as opposed to the division/wild card split,
remain unchanged by MLB's bookkeeping.
The Red Sox are being given about a 71% chance of clinching a playoff spot
outright today, by either winning or having the Indians lose. There's a 29%
chance of a playoff with the Indians on Monday, which is being split 50/50
betwen them.

I was told there would be no math involved.

Did anyone mention this already?
ANOTHER cry baby article about Sean McDonough? :o :o
http://www.boston.co...roadcast_booth/
Ten months later, McDonough still struggles with the idea that after 17 seasons with the Sox, he's no longer part of the team's broadcast lineup.

Gee, big surprise. Theisman is way off in interpreting a review. Not even close in what he is arguing. Then when proven wrong, he reverses ground and says the call is "the way it should be...."
What a tool. I swear some of these announcers doing major games are as bad as the jackasses on WEEI, just in a different way. But think of all the horrendous announcers we're routinely subjected to on the national scene.....McCarver, Morgan, Theisman, Trumpy, etc. The list is much longer.
